
Dealing with Electrical Noise in High-Density UV Arrays
If you’ve got a few large-scale printing presses running in one shop, you know the electrical environment can get pretty chaotic. High-voltage UV lamps are notorious for kicking out electromagnetic interference (EMI). If your UV system isn’t built to handle that chaos, you’re going to deal with the headache: flickering lamps, curing cycles that act erratic, or controllers that just crash for no apparent reason.
Why your line starts acting up
Most UV systems use electronic ballasts to keep the arc stable. But when you have five or six presses humming along at once, all that inductive load creates massive voltage spikes. It’s basically electrical noise that screams over your control signals. We handle this by building dedicated shielding and filtered power stages right into our modular systems. It keeps the noise from bleeding into the parts of the machine that actually tell it what to do. We also use isolated grounding paths for every module. This stops those annoying ground loops that usually haunt long industrial setups.
