If the voltage and wattage don&amp;rsquo;t align, things go south fast. On these high-speed rotary lines, we usually lean toward high-wattage shortwave lamps. They hit the ink with intense heat to flash-dry it without scorching your substrate.&#xA;Just be careful. If you push too many watts into a circuit that can&amp;rsquo;t handle it, you&amp;rsquo;ll be tripping breakers or replacing a control board. Not fun.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;The nuts and bolts.&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;Most of the lamps we use for Sulfet are quartz glass with halogen gas inside. The halogen keeps the tungsten filament from evaporating too quickly, which means the lamp actually lasts. We stick to standard R7s or SK15 bases so they just slide right in. No need to spend your afternoon rewiring the housing.&#xA;Sometimes, we add specific coatings to the quartz. This tweaks how the heat is emitted so the ink absorbs it better. The result? You waste less energy and your line can run faster.&#xA;&lt;strong&gt;A few things to watch out for in the field.&lt;/strong&gt;&#xA;These lamps pack a massive punch in a tiny package. They react instantly, which is great, but that heat density puts a lot of pressure on your cooling fans. If your vents are clogged or your fans are tired, the housing will overheat and the quartz will give out way sooner than it should.&#xA;Before you flip the switch, check your connectors for carbon buildup. A loose connection creates a hot spot that can literally melt your socket.&#xA;And one last pro tip:**Keep the quartz clean.**Seriously. Even a few fingerprints leave oils on the glass, and when that glass hits high temperatures, those oils cause the quartz to crack.
