
Let’s Talk About Custom UV Lamp Modules
We spent some time at the 2026 Printing Exhibition showing off our custom UV lamp modules. Now, these aren’t your typical bulbs you can just grab off a shelf. We build these from the ground up to make sure your ink cures fast enough to keep up with high-speed lines. Getting the light just right Here’s the thing: your ink has specific photoinitiators, and your lamp needs to play nice with them. Most of the time, we lean into narrow-band UV-C to make sure the cure goes deep, not just on the surface. We tweak the electrode spacing and the gas fill to dial in that spectral output. Sure, cranking up the wattage gives you more power, but it also puts a lot of stress on the glass. That’s why we use high-purity fused quartz. It keeps the tube from cracking when the temperature jumps up and down. Fitting in and staying cool We designed these to be simple drop-in replacements. You get the lamp, the reflector, and the cooling jacket all in one package. We use anodized aluminum for the reflectors because it bounces those UV rays right back into the material. No wasted energy. But you have to be careful with the heat. High-output modules put out a ton of IR radiation. If your conveyor slows down too much, you’re going to scorch your work. To stop that, we build in forced-air or water-cooled jackets. It keeps the lamp stable and stops the mercury from overheating, which is usually what causes your UV output to tank. Built for the real world Factories are loud, shaky, and run 24/7. We know that. To stop that annoying flickering caused by vibration, we use reinforced connectors. And we skipped the generic wiring. Instead, we use high-temperature silicone leads. They won’t melt if they happen to touch the housing. If you’re trying to fix up an old line, we can probably help.
